How are switchboard sensors connected?

Parallel

Sensors on a switchboard are wired in parallel, meaning each sensor is connected across the same two points in the circuit. This arrangement gives every sensor the same supply voltage and lets any sensor trigger the alarm independently without affecting the others. If sensors were placed in series, the current would have to pass through every sensor, so a fault or a change in one path could prevent others from signaling and could compromise the whole system. Connecting them independently doesn’t provide a common triggering path for the alarm, which is essential for unified monitoring.
